Most of the time, we would like to repaint our old steel bero as we dont want to replace it with
a new one either due to sentimental reasons or maybe because the quality of the old steel bero
is very good. This is where we consider the option of repainting the old steel bero to give it an
all new look.
Repainting a steel bero is absolutely a good idea and in this article we will see the steps
involved in repainting the old steel bero.
Repainting the steel bero is not just a single step process, but involves multiple steps to
ensure that it lasts for the next few years.
Steps of repainting a old steel almirah:
Step 1: Dismantle of the bero mirror and handles.
The bero handles and mirror are removed before processing the steel almirah for painting.
In case the mirror is damaged it will be replaced with a new one after completion of the painting process.
Handles will be replaced with a new one, in order to match the new shine of the repainted bero.
Step 2: Removal of the old paint.
The old paint will be removed entirely by scrubbing it with sand paper and other paint removal tools.
Once this process is complete, we move onto the next step which involves treating the steel for
painting process.
Step 3: Rust prevention through red oxide painting.
Once the old paint is completely removed, red oxide painting is done in order to prevent the
steel from rusting. Even if there is rust already present, applying red oxide paint will make
the steel processed and it will adhere to the steel bero by forming chemical bonds.
The red oxide paint is then allowed to dry completely.
Step 4: Primer application.
Applying primer is an essential step in repainting an old steel bero or old steel almirah as the
primer makes the surface smooth and more suitable for painting. 3 coats of primer are applied before
painting.
Step 5: Spray painting.
Once the primer dries completely, the old steel bero is spray painted with the color of your choice
which will be chosen from the color card. Both matt finish and hammer finish painting can be done
based on the choice of the customer. Once the paint dries completely, a new handle is fixed.
The mirror is also added back to the bero. Now your old steel bero has a stunning new shiny look.
